I’ve already traveled 50 miles back and forth this morning. I had a 9am meeting in Chandler. I have to confess I didn’t have a good breakfast, no it was bad breakfast. Now I’m feeling bad, hungry and thinking about lunch. Lunch will probably be salad with fresh cut carrots, red onions, farm fresh tomatoes, all sitting on a bed of mixed greens. And oh my favorite black olives and fresh Boar’s Head turkey lunch meat rolled up and cut down into neat edible pieces. An added touch, something Jackie Sallon turned me on to, is fresh cheese from Whole Foods Market in Tempe.
While I was visiting London in the spring of last year, I met up with Jackie Sallon who introduced me to Neal’s Yard cheeses. Oh my god that’s what I call heaven! Each type of cheese is distinct, favorable, and so fresh there’s slight taste grass. Jackie disclosed Neal Yard is sold in Whole Foods much to my happiness. If you happen to visit London do go to Covent Gardens and visit Neal’s Yard Dairy, tell them Jackie Sallon sent you! You won’t be disappointed.
Well, here begins my love affair with the Neal’s Yard and Whole Foods. Now, when I go to Whole Foods I make the cheese department my favorite place to spend time sampling different cheeses. The person behind the cheese counter is knowledgeable and can talk cheese. The best part of Whole Foods is they take the guessing out of what you may think a cheese may taste like by giving you a sample. Just this week I bought three different types of yummy organic cheeses and a Neal’s Yard Cheshire.
