Breakfast: Marmalade Café – Malibu
Worth the drive out to Malibu! And the short wait. Bill and Joseph took me here for breakfast. Oh what treat! And a non tourist place because its location is in a strip mall of the beaten path.

Dinner: Taste – West Hollywood, CA
I spent the evening with Bill, Joseph and Terence at Taste. I had the orange ginger shrimp, rice stick noodles, asparagus, red pepper, cilantro, oranges, scallions, and citrus ginger sauce, which was outstanding.
Taste is a casual place great for hanging out with friends and enjoy delicious food. As always it was great to see Bill, Joseph and Terence. Of course Terence filled us in on the up and coming spring fashions! Short, short skirts not for me.

Brunch & Lunch: Hals Bar and Grill – Venice Beach, CA
Lisa Nugent met me at Hals Bar and Grill. It is a spacious delight with very good food so good my brother, Tom, met me there later in the afternoon. While dining with Lisa I had the House Cobb Salad which is tossed mixed greens, chicken, bacon, bleu cheese, tomato, avocado, egg and dijon vinaigrette. Refreshing and delightful.
Lisa and I had a great conversation during brunch and while walking along California Avenue. It was great to catch up with her. She’s always in the know of what’s happening in the digital world. Venice Beach has changed over the past 10 years, it grew up. The shopping is sophisticated and art intriguing. I especially loved HiDHi, whose collection of India silk couture made me very hungry for fashion.
Tom spent the past couple of days hiking in Joshua Tree. It wasn’t an endurance hike, but it was great to see Joshua Tree he told me.
Dinner and a Movie – Santa Monica
Later that night I spent the evening with Mark Jeffrey, of The Pocket and the Pendent fame. Ok, we had skipped the dinner I had way too much to eat. I actually left out breakfast with Bill and Joseph at Le Pain Quotidien on Melrose, before heading to meet Lisa Nugent and Tom. Yeah I had a very yummy chocolate croissant. This is a great place only those in know know this kind of place with plenty of opportunities to star gaze.
So, Mark and I opted for V for Vendetta, it was awesome. Not the film I thought I was going to see. Mark’s comment was spot on when he said he was surprised that Warner Brothers would make such a political film. I encourage you to see this film!
Mark is putting the finishing touching on his newest addition “The Two Travelers”. I have the corrective notes addition and am thoroughly enjoying it! It’s going to be available this summer. You’re going to love the Two Travelers!
