New York: New York My Favorite Place to Eat

I can’t believe how great it feels to be home! Yes, New York is my home no matter where I am. New York in my opinion has the best eats in the WORLD.

I no sooner landed and off I am on an eating adventure and meeting up with friends. Sunday, I spent the day with Courtney. We began brunch with pastries at Ceci-Cela on Spring Street and Lafayette.

Ceci-Cela Chocolate MOUSEYum! The chocolate M-O-U-S-E delicious and chocolate croissants divine. You don’t have to go to Paris to get great pastries just walk the streets of Manhattan.

We walked, talked, and experienced Soho in a way that opened my senses to what I crave so much: people, buzz, great fashions, and FOOD! We eorked up an appetite for Souen, my favorite vegetarian restaurant. Food great service slow but polite.

Headed back to Brooklyn where Manos was BBQing on the porch for friends: David, Seth, Arthur and his girlfriend.

Yesterday, back into the swing of networking, my second nature! Attended the blogging seminar at
ThirdWay. Jason Calacanis, Chris Halvorson, Tom Biro, B.L. Ochman, and David Berger were on a panel to discuss the art of blogging. Jason gave great advice on blogging and nice to finally catch up to him. It was awesome to met Chris from Stonyfield face to face. The Stonyfield blog is one of the best uses of commercial food blog. Daily Eats wrote about it in June. ThirdWay’s CEO, David Vinjamuri, gives several of these events a year.

It felt like home week seeing luminaries from the industry. Saw Eleanor Haas and David Blumenstein.

After the seminar we gave Jason a ride to his poker game. He was very impressed with Manos’ truly computerized Audi A8 on par with the Kit Car from Night Rider.

Had dinner at my all time favorite Hell’s Kitchen restaurant,
ViceVersa! Oh the pasta was amazing. I tried the Rigatoni with small lamb meatballs, green olives, tomato and Sardinian pecorino, while Manos had the Risotto with sausage, and David had the Squid ink tagliolini with bay scallops and sea urchin.

The owners of ViceVersa: Daniele Kucera, Franco Lazzari, and Stefano Terzi opened a new restaurant, Etcetera Etcetera at 352 West 44th Street in Manhattan. I’m looking forward to trying out.

OH it feels great to be home if only for a month it will recharge me in spirit and feed my soul!
